Investors Warranty of America has closed on the disposition of a 4,000 acre tract of land to Lee County in a $42.435 million sale. The property, known as Edison Farms, is connected to existing state and county owned lands and will be utilized as a conservation site. The sale consists of around 2,800 acres of undisturbed wetland habitat, and hydric pine flatwoods. The remaining 1,200 acres consist of upland pods that have been identified as developable but will remain intact and will not for development. Edison Farms is located within the Estero Bay Watershed and contains headwaters for three major tributaries to Estero Bay.
