Foreigners about to win right to buy Serbian land

1 August 2017

Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic said that foreigners with permanent residence in Serbia can buy up to 2ha of land. The state will employ a rigorous control mechanism. The law on agricultural land should be adopted by September as an obligation under the Stabilization and Association Agreement between Serbia and the EU. Nedimovic says foreigners interested in buying land will have to wait until they’ve lived for at least 10 years in Serbia. In addition, they should also own agricultural equipment or have registered a farm. It is forbidden that the foreign companies not registered in Serbia buy land plots.
