Czech retail market is booming with expansions and new entries. KFC, Costa Coffee and Fruitissimo are planning to open new restaurants in the Czech Republic, with new entries expected by Mr. Kebab and UK-based lingerie shop Boux Avenue, writes the server aktualne.cz. KFC is launching a new concept of small outlets in city centers. Fruitissimo is planning to open 30 new shops and is considering a cross-border expansion, while Costa Coffee wants to have presence in large regional cities across the Czech Republic. Pizzerie Colosseum, meanwhile, is testing a delicatessen concept. Mr. Kebab is to open two restaurants shortly and hopes to open up to 20 stores over the next five years in shopping centers in large cities or at transport hubs. Czech Retail Group, which has cooperated with Sportisimo and Fruitisimo, is bringing the concept to the Czech Republic.
In the meantime, Bernard is planning to launch a new restaurant chain called Bernard Bar. The brewery already operates six Bernard Pub restaurants. Hamleys, with a flagship store on Na Příkopě in Prague 1, is planning to open another location at Prague’s Chodov shopping center soon and hopes to add an additional seven locations in regional cities.
