Polish retail spending expected to grow by 40% over 10 years

25 April 2017

Poland’s retail sector has increased by 66 percent per capita since 2004, according to Cushman & Wakefield. Over the past five years, retail stock and sales have grown by 20 percent cumulatively. Retail spending over the next 10 years is expected to increase by 40 percent per capita. “The changing structure of consumer expenditure follows the patterns of more affluent countries. This provides huge potential for new retail developments, new formats, new concepts and operators as the market is reaching a new level of maturity,” said Kamila Wykrota, partner and head of consulting and research at C&W. “Forecasted 40 percent growth of retail spending per capita over the next decade is expected to support further balanced development of the retail market in Poland.”
