Alza.cz is continuing its cross-border expansion with plans to open a store in Vienna. The Czech electronics e-shop opened a location in Budapest last year and expanded its Bratislava showroom. In the Czech Republic, Alza intends to open a new regional center in Ostrava. The e-shop is also testing a sale automat in Prague to see if shoppers favor this new retail concept. Inspired by baguette automats, Alza.cz wants to sell a limited assortment of small products, such as SD cards, camera batteries, phone chargers and drugstore goods. Alza’s expansion director, Jan Moudřík, says that the company hopes its automats will allow it to establish in locations where it cannot open a classic store or an AlzaBox.
