Cornerstone laid for Brama Jury Shopping Centre in Zawiercie

18 September 2024

The foundation stone for the Brama Jury shopping centre in Zawiercie, Silesia, has officially been laid, marking a key milestone in the construction of the city’s first modern retail facility. Developed by Master Management Group (MMG), the shopping centre will feature a four-screen cinema and is set to open in the second half of next year.

Construction and commercialisation efforts for the new retail hub are already well underway.

“This symbolic cornerstone ceremony is a significant moment for the development of Poland’s retail market. MMG has developed, leased, and built more than half a million square metres of retail and service space across the country. Brama Jury will offer an outstanding shopping experience for customers and create over 400 jobs, supporting both national retail chains and local entrepreneurs,” said Paul Kuśmierz, founder and president of MMG, during the event. He added that the progress is thanks to the expertise and dedication of MMG’s team and their business partners.

The event was attended by local authorities, city officials, representatives of the design firm, and business partners.

“We are currently focused on erecting the building structure according to schedule. At the peak of construction, we anticipate engaging around 150 workers to handle finishing tasks and land development. With our expertise in commercial building construction, we are ensuring top-tier functionality and technical standards,” said Dawid Kliś, President of SPEC BAU Polska, the general contractor.

The 16,200-square-metre facility will feature a mix of a traditional shopping mall and a retail park, with both internal and external shop entrances. It will host well-known retail chains new to the city, as well as local brands, service points, cafes, and restaurants. A food market and a four-screen cinema are also planned.

“We have extensive experience in building diverse brand portfolios across Poland, and we are applying those best practices to Brama Jury. This will be the first facility in Zawiercie to combine the quick shopping experience of a retail park with the leisure offerings of a classic shopping mall. We are creating a destination that will soon become a well-known shopping hub for the region,” said Anna Polak, Head of Leasing at MMG.

Brama Jury is being developed in the scenic Krakow-Częstochowa Jurassic Highland, an ideal location for both local residents and tourists. Conveniently located near the Zawiercie ring road and the A1 motorway, the site will provide over 500 parking spaces.

The architectural design for the project was created by the APA Via studio from Łódź, while SPEC BAU Polska leads the construction as the general contractor.
