The expansion of the IGY shopping center in České Budějovice has topped out. The 21-meter addition to the existing mall, developed by CPI PG, is scheduled for completion this fall, just in time for the Christmas shopping craze. The CZK 750m investment will expand the retail space to 29,000 sqm, cut into 130 units, with 700 parking spots. The new space is already 85 percent leased to brands like H&M, Sportisimo, Eiffel Optic, Costa Coffee, Česká spořitelna, A3 Sport, Camp David, Ecco and Douglas. There will also be a nine-screen multiplex. The shopping center needed a thorough facelift after 11 years of operation. CPI decided to modernize IGY as well as add 8,000 sqm of new retail space in an effort to increase its competitiveness. The public space around the center will also be given a facelift.
