Myslbek bets on luxury and elegance

6 December 2016

The Myslbek building, situated in Prague’s main high street, Na Příkopě, has undergone a significant transformation. Kamila Kadeřábková, Director of AEW and Asset Manager of the property, explains the reasons for the reconstruction and the future plans for the shopping and office areas of Myslbek.

Myslbek celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. It’s mainly been commemorated with large-scale reconstruction. What has been involved?
The modernization highlighted the shopping units, making the orientation and movement of customers easier and, more importantly, more pleasant. Additionally, it helped to create an atmosphere of space so that shoppers get the actual feeling that they are visiting a premium address – the most popular high street in Prague. This also corresponds to the installation of the largest indoor lighting sculpture – Vortex, which is based on a design by Maxim Velčovský and was manufactured by Lasvit.

Myslbek is made up of an office section and the shopping mall. What is their position on the market?
I think that, in the case of Myslbek, there is a unique symbiosis between the best place in the centre of Prague and premium tenants. Indeed, many of them opened their first store in the Czech Republic here. We can highlight, for example, the English luxury shop Barbour or French brand, Cremieux.
In the case of the office space, this is confirmed by such prestigious tenants as Pilsner Urquell / SABMiller, JLL, BPV Braun Partners or Kinstellar Business Services. Myslbek represents a high standard of office space complemented with the best address.

What is Myslbek Shopping Gallery‘s profile on the high street compared with Černá Růže and Pánská pasáž?
Above all, a wide range of offers and exclusive brands, with the emphasis on rest areas, design and generous, visually elegant space throughout the building.

You describe the offices as some of the most luxurious on the market. It is only due to the location on the high street, Na Příkopě?
Of course, location is the key argument. It’s not just the actual street, Na Příkopě, but also the connection to the fruit market and this part of the Old Town. In Myslbek, you are quite simply in the business centre, in the heart of the action.
The offices have been continuously upgraded, indeed, after fifteen years of operation, we performed well in the process of BREEAM certification. Along with the property manager of BNP Paribas Real Estate we want to focus mainly on operations and the overall feeling of satisfaction from residence in the building. Being in Myslbek means to be outstanding and successful. Our goal is to make people carry that feeling around with themselves every day.
