Ghelamco wins race for Łódź’s most expensive site

31 October 2016

Ghelamco Poland has won a tender for what’s turned out to be most expensive plot in the city of Łodź, outbidding two of its competitors: Budomal and HB Reavis (Polcom Investment). In the biggest land transaction on the Łódź market, the developer paid PLN 85.2m for the 20,000 sqm site, which is part of the city’s flagship Nowe Centrum Łodzi project that’s already underway. The asking price was set at PLN 60m. Ghelamco is already involved in the large-scale redevelopment plan. The local zoning plan for the property allows for the development of nine commercial buildings, including residential and service space.

Nowe Centrum Łodzi combines a number of commercial scheme, including Skanska’s Nowa Fabryczna office building, which is going up in the so-called Brama Miasta, which it bought last year for PLN 28.5m.
