Decathlon is scheduled to open its fourth store in Slovakia in Banska Bystrice on October 14. The sports retailer already has to shops in Bratislava, in the Pharos shopping zone, and in Bory mall, with a third located in the city of Košice. The new 1,700 sqm shop in Europa Shopping Center will be its first in central Slovakia and its smallest in Slovakia. It’s moving into the space that was occupied by a Terno store, with that company having reduced its footprint and remodeled its store. The new Decathlon was originally supposed to open in the Radvaň Park retail park, but expansion there has been delayed. Europa SC, by contrast, is expanding by 1,400 sqm and will be adding a new entrance. In all, the mall’s total GLA will be 39,000 sqm.
