In an investment worth PLN 35m, Ikea Centers Polska is set to renovate its 100,0000 sqm Port shopping center in Łódź, located at the corner of Chocianowska and Pabianicka streets. Nearly 1,200 sqm of space is to be modernized in the first stage, though the company has refused to to provide details on subsequent phases. MaP Design provided the design, while Vertus is carrying out the construction work.
The news comes just days after Ikea announced it has finally moved forward with its development in the city of Lublin. The center had been put on hold by city official for years. Originally, Ikea planned to launch the investment in 2009. Now that it’s back on track, Ikea will begin with the development of a new public infrastructure system for the center.
