Retail sales in Hungary increased by 5.7 percent y-o-y in June, according to the Central Statistical Office. Adjusted food sales were up 3.4 percent, while non-food sales climbed 9.7 percent and fuel sales increased by 3.6 percent. Food and fuel sales slowed compared to May’s figures, while non-food sales increased. Analysts estimate that retail sales will continue growing throughout the year as a result of a rise in real wages, increasing employment and stronger consumption.
