According to a survey done by PwC and the Solar Trade Association, one third of jobs in the solar sector have been lost in the past year and a further 30 percent job cuts are expected in the next 12 months. STA and PwC surveyed 238 companies and found that there was a 32% drop in jobs from 5, 326 to 3,665 but there are claims that the number may be higher as the study excluded companies that had gone into administration. The cuts follow the UK government’s plans to reduce subsidies into the industry and fears of further reductions come from the uncertainties of the Brexit vote.
