Farmers market replacing Gigasport’s Čestlice store

26 July 2016

Cestlicke trhy has completed the purchase the last remaining building from the portfolio of the Gigasport chain. The building’s new owner will setup a new farmers’ market concept that includes Czech as well as foreign-raised produce. Cushman & Wakefield represented the owner during the sale of the entire portfolio.

“This building is unique among commercial properties in the Czech Republic. It is a very attractive hall built in the Austrian style. A part of it is made of wood. In addition, it stands out with its specific ground plan and other original elements,” says Cushman & Wakefield’s Lukáš Vostrovský who represented Gigasport in selling the facility. “The use of the facility for farmers’ markets will benefit the entire area,” he said. Half of the 5,000 sqm building is used for retail space, with the remainder taken up by office and storage space.

The new market will focus on the sale of products from local farms, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meat products, cheese, fish along with domestic and imported wines. The new market will be open daily.
