19 July 2016

McCraney Property based in West Palm Beach has picked up a 70 acre tract of land in Plant City for the future development of a warehouse development. The land is located at the intersection of County Line and Rice roads in Plant City and is part of a 250-acre Fancy Farms strawberry farm owned by the Grooms family. The plans call for a speculative warehouse development that will total 1.3 million sqf across four separate buildings. Other distribution centers in the area include Amazon, Publix Super Markets, O’Reilly Auto Parts and Southern Wine & Spirits. Lisa Parks Abberger, a commercial broker with Hauger-Bunch, represented the Grooms family in the transaction. Bruce Erhardt, executive director with Cushman & Wakefield, represented McCraney Property. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

“This area of Central Florida is the new frontier for the convergence of development and commerce,” said Steven McCraney, president and CEO of McCraney Property. “The I-4 passage is attracting new business largely on the broad vision and commitment to the infrastructure of the community and its leaders.”
