Scotland’s biggest non-domestic water supplier Business Stream is expanding in England in order to strengthening its position on the market. The deal to buy Southern Waters will create the UK’s third largest non-domestic water company, which will result in a combined market share of more than 10 percent. This will take effect in April 2017 when England’s business retail market opens up to competition and up to 40 new jobs will be created in the Edinburgh headquarters. Business Stream has been operating since 2008 when competition was introduced in Scotland and it serves around 105,000 non-domestic customers across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Its current retail customers include House of Fraser and Bernard Mathews.
