The average monthly income per Romanian household in Q4 2015 was RON 2,862 and RON 1,079 per person, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS). Expenditures averaged RON 2,537 per month per household (or RON 956 per person), representing 88.6 percent of total income.
Salaries and other related income account for 56.4 percent of total household income, while social benefits made up 22.4 percent. Agriculture income accounted for 2.9 percent, while non-agricultural activities brought in 2.6 percent and income from properties and sales of household assets made up 1.3 percent. In-kind income totaled 12.8 percent.
