Ahold increased its operational profit by 39 percent to €421m in Q3 2015. In the Czech Republic, Albert stores produced €16m in profits, up from €5m in Q3 2014. The company’s European results were far better than the numbers analysts expected, as they foresaw profits of just €369m. Revenues jumped 21.4 percent to €9.8bn while internet sales increased by 29.1 percent. Net profit rose 16 percent to €254m. Ahold agreed on a merger with Delhaize last year, with the Ahold Delhaize group expected to rank fourth among retail chains in Europe. The merger should be completed by mid-2016.
