Ikea will refurbish and expand its store in Kiel. The property was built in 2002, but when the modernization project is completed, it will offer 22,000 sqm of retail space. Several municipal agencies are currently engaged in preparing a final development scheme. The city’s economic development committee has now given its approval for the project, but a decision by the town’s planning board is still pending. Completion is set for the last quarter of 2018.
