Mercur Shopping Centre Craiova, which is currently being modernized, has unveiled its future visual identity along with its new name: Mercur Center. The reopening of the shopping center is being project for for April 2016. In addition to the shopping area, the remodeled center will have a multiplex cinema with six digital screening rooms, an area for restaurants and cafes, a fast food area, playgrounds, a casino, a supermarket and a fitness center. According to Mercur Center’s general director, the investment ran to more than €10m with funding coming from a mix of bank loans, bonds and equity.
”We currently have 200 people on site, working at a fast pace. The construction work includes internal demolition, while we have already begun the rehabilitation and modernization process outside. The deadline for completion of the project will be respected,” said Rares Iancău, Vitalis Consulting Project Manager.
Liana Dumitru, Associate Director of Colliers International which is in charge of leasing, says that over 50 percent of the space has been leased, while negotiations with additional national and international brands are underway.
