United Technologies Corp. has closed on a 30 acre tract of land in Palm Beach Gardens for a new innovation center designed to exhibit the company’s new building technologies. The $17.25 million property is located at the southeastern corner of I-95 and Donald Ross Road, near the Scripps Research Institute. The 250,000 sq ft building will house offices for researchers and other staff as well as the innovation center. The seller, Kolter Group, bought the more than 600 acre site in 2013 for $127 million. Headquartered in Farmington, Connecticut, United owns building related companies Carrier air conditioners, Otis Elevator Company, and fire detection and suppression systems maker UTC Building and Industrial Systems.
