Parndorf outlet owner acquires Freeport outlet on Czech border

Freeport Outlet center in Hatě near Znojmo along the Czech border with Austria has changed hands. The owners of the Austrian Parndorf outlet near Vienna, APM Holding and Betha Zwerenz, are taking over Freeport from Freeport Retail and VIA Group Portfolio, who also operate outlets in Portugal and Sweden. The price of the transaction was not disclosed. Freeport outlet center’s footfall ranks second in the Czech market, behind the Štěrboholy outlet mall in Prague. It attracts 2 million shoppers annually, 50 percent of which are Austrian. The turnover of the outlet with 75 shops and 250 brands has reached CZK 1.2bn in 2014, writes Hospodářské noviny.
