The Hungarian retail sector reported a 5.1-percent y-o-y increase in sales in September, according to the country’s central statistical office (KSH). Sales for the first nine months of the year increased by 5.9 percent y-o-y. The strong performance is mainly connected with economic growth, rising salaries as well as high employment levels, according to KSH. E-retailers also reported significant improvement this year, and KSH is forecasting the trend will continue in the coming years.
