Demand from e-commerce companies is expected grow rapidly over the next four years as more newcomers hit the Polish market, according to a recent report from Prologis and JLL. They predict that 700,000 sqm in e-commerce related warehouse leases will be signed by 2020.
“Nearly 50 large-scale warehouse units will become available in the next six months. With 280,000 sqm of space underway on spec around the country … the Polish market is proving to be ready for the dynamic growth of e-commerce in Poland,” says Jan Zombriet, head of the research department at JLL.
“The total supply of new warehouse space in Poland amounts to 9.6 million sqm. Most of this space meets the requirements of e-commerce clients,” says Paweł Sapek, head of Prologis Poland, adding that developers are also able to adjust their existing projects to e-commerce clients.
