Winter Park-based Avanti Properties has purchased 313 acres of land in southwest Miami-Dade county from National homebuilder D.R. Horton for $18 million. The sale was split into two parcels measuring 137.5-acres and 175.9-acres.
D.R. Horton paid $25.1 million for the property in 2005. In order to build on the property Avanti would have to petition the county and receive a two thirds favorable vote from the city commission.
