According to “Market Report Retail Trade” jointly published by Redos Real Estate with BBE Handelsberatung and IPH Handelsimmobilien, sales space in retail parks and shopping centres plays an important dual role for clothing retailers, more so than for retailers in almost any other sector; functioning both as a sales channel and an advertising platform. Vertical fashion chains are at the forefront, expanding their retail space in order to aggressively drive sales revenues. According to a recent study carried out by the Textil Wirtschaft trade journal, 50% of consumers view the range of clothing in stores as the most important source of fashion inspiration. Shop window displays (39%) were ranked second, followed by clothing catalogues and the internet in joint third place (37% each).
