Mexican fund buying stake in Amrest

The Mexican private investment fund Finaccess Capital has acquired a 32-percent stake in Amrest from Warburg Pincus. Amrest operates the fast-food chains KFC and Burger King in the Czech Republic as well as in Poland. Warburg, the company’s majority shareholder, said in July that it planned to offload its stake in Amrest. ING OTE, PZU PTE and AVIVA OFE also have stakes in Amrest. The market price of the company is currently CZK 24bn, according to Reuters. It operates 850 fast-food restaurants in 12 countries in the CEE region and Western Europe as well as Russia, China and the US.
