OBI, Bauhaus and ADEO are in negotiations to acquire 24 Baumax stores on the Czech market, writes the APA news agency. The Austrian DIY retailer has been struggling for a few years, following the retailers rapid expansion across Eastern Europe. The company reported a €189m loss in 2013, which was even worse than the €126m in losses it racked up in 2012. Baumax has already offloaded its networks in Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Turkey and Hungary. It still operates in Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia.
