Lakeland based Publix Supermarkets, Inc. has purchased a building that it currently occupies as the main tenant for $22.5 million. The store, located at 1415 East Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, is a free standing building with 44,840 square feet. Built in 2004, the property sits on 3.5 acres and includes a paved parking lot that fronts East Sunrise Blvd. The seller was Fort Lauderdale based Stiles. In March, Publix announced that it would invest $1.3 billion in new store construction, remodeling, technology and real estate in 2015.
