Dekada Realty is partnering with XCity to develop two railway stations that will connect with convenience shopping centers in Konin and Mińsk Mazowiecki. Costs are expected to total PLN 68m. The retail developer and XCity, the recently established development arm of the state-run Polish State Railways (PKP), signed the agreement this week. The projects will deliver 970,000 sqm of new commercial space.
“From our experience, retail outlets connected with bus and railway stations enjoy strong interest from local residents. In many cases, however, the landlords in these locations are facing financial difficulties,” says Aleksander Walczak, CEO of Dekada Realty. “This type of investment is beneficial for both sides of the agreement: providing a stable group of shoppers to developers and tenants, while releasing landlords from all revitalization costs.”
