Aupark, one of the oldest shopping centers in Bratislava, will be given a thorough facelift at the beginning of 2015. Its owner, Unibail Rodamco, is planning to redesign the shopping gallery and food court, add more escalators and modernize the bathrooms. Work will be done in phases, with completion scheduled for October. Unibail is also reportedly considering renaming the project Park West. The redesign is expected to cost €40m. The first phase, the renovation of the center’s underground parking garage by the French construction company Vinci, was already completed and cost €3.5m. HB Reavis developed Aupark in 2001. Rodamco bought a 50-percent stake four years later for €75m. In 2011, Unibail Rodamco acquired the remaining 50 percent for €151m. It also bought the neighboring plot for €3m.
