Ahold reports loss on Czech market

Ahold’s operational profit on the Czech market fell by 22 percent y-o-y to €14m between January and September. The operational profit for the whole group dropped 9 percent to €965m in the same period. The food retailer completed its acquisition of Interspar’s Czech network this year. The takeover cost Ahold CZK 5.2bn. Net revenues for the company dropped 2 percent to €1.09bn in the first three quarters of the year. In the third quarter, however, revenues increased by 10 percent y-o-y, hitting €367m.
