Decathlon has broken ground on a new store in the Pharos Park commercial zone at Bratislava airport. The French sporting goods retailer is also building a store in the city’s Bory district. Both stores are scheduled to open next spring, marking Decathlon’s debut on the Slovak market. Development 4, which developed Pharos Park, is building the store for Decathlon on a 3 ha plot. The standalone building will offer 4,000 sqm of retail space.
Sconto and Bauhaus also plan to open stores in Pharos Park next year. Bauhaus has invested €40m into the construction of a 20,000 sqm store and plans to open in spring. Sconto, meanwhile, is planning to open in fall 2015. The 24 ha Pharos Park has 260,000 sqm of built-up space.
