Poland’s retailers enjoy healthy performance

2 October 2014

More than one third of the retailers in Poland are reporting healthy performance, a recent report from Bisnode D&B Polska shows, which is expected to drive the country’s retail centre market in the near-term.

According to the report, food and manufacturing retailers enjoy the biggest share of sales in Poland, followed by clothing and footwear retailers. At the same time, food courts in Poland have noticeably improved their performance.

There are roughly 400 retail centres operating in Poland, offering a total of 9.42m sqm of commercial space. Despite the fact that Poland’s retail market has been suffering from significant slowdown over the past few years, mainly due to lack of external financing, market observers expect to see the sector back on its feet within next two years.
