NEPI, one of the largest investors on the Romanian market, recently bought a 7.4-hectares plot in the city of Piatra Neamt where it plans to develop a 29,000 sqm shopping center. The land belonged to Sef Petroforest SA, which has filed for bankruptcy. The company’s creditors approved the €9.36m sale on July 17, according to a filing with Neamt County Court.
Earlier this year, NEPI bought 18 acres of land in Timisoara from Dedeman, where it intends to build an 80,000 sqm shopping center. The investor plans to open its Vulcan Value Center, offering 25,000 sqm of retail space, in Bucharest on Sept. 4.
