The Essen-based developer mfi is moving forward with plans to to build the Osnabrück-Arcaden shopping center on Neumarkt. The city council has recently accepted the implementation agreement as well as the project’s master plan. Mfi’s construction of the shopping mall represents an investment of roughly €125m. One of the conditions of the deal with the council is that at least 50 percent of the shops that open in the mall must be new to the city, or else must be opening a second shop in it. When completed, the Osnabrück-Arcaden shopping center will offer 21,500 sqm of retail space for 100 stores. It’s due to open its doors in 2017.
