Carrefour is in talks to open a hypermarket at ParkLake Plaza, currently underway in Bucharest’s Titan district. The French retailer may replace Cora Romania, who pulled out of a lease deal unexpectedly. Representatives for Cora did not specify why they had changed their minds. The shopping center is being developed by Sonae Sierra in partnership with Caelum Development and will offer approximately 70,000 sqm of leasable space in 200 stores. The project, scheduled for completion in 2016, will also include 2,600 underground parking spaces.
