Romanian state to sell 46% stake in Romtelecom

The Romanian government is preparing to sell its 46-percent stake in Romtelecom, one of the country’s largest telecom operators. KPMG has been hired to assess the company’s real estate portfolio. Romtelecom, which is indirectly controlled by Deutsche Telekom Group, is one of the five biggest landowners in Romania. OTE investments in the coming years are expected to focus on VDSL and 4G systems.
