Anchor Group is set to start renovating the Plaza shopping center in Bucharest’s Drumul Taberei neighborhood next month. The shopping center opened 10 years ago. Its sales started declining in late 2009, when AFI Palace Cotroceni opened nearby. Plaza posted a turnover of €7.2m in 2013, down 23 percent from the previous year and 63 percent from 2009. The renovation will include the construction of a new terrace, according to Razvan Gaita, Anchor Group’s general manager.
