24 March 2014

The Polish retailer Redan group returned to profitability at the end of 2013, after restructuring its business plan. The company posted a net profit of PLN 10.3m, following a loss of PLN 10.2m at the end of 2012. The retailer posted a total of PLN 468.3m in revenues last year, a healthy 6.4-percent increase from 2012. Meanwhile, Redan’s operating costs dropped last year by 4.7 percent to PLN 186.6m.

“This improvement is the result of a number of changes we’ve implemented in an effort to optimize the operations of the entire group, making it possible for us to expand our revenues and margins,” Bogusz Kruszyński, vice president of Redan, said. “At the same time, we reduced the cost for both our discount and our fashion sales businesses.”
