Dandreet opened a shopping center on the central square in the city of Teplice. Galerie Teplice, designed by Benoy architects, offers 80 to 90 shops leased to retailers such as Intersport, H&M, Lindex, Baťa, dm drogerie, POMPO toys, and CCC shoes. The center also houses a Premiere Cinemas multiplex.
The center was 80 percent leased at its shell and core stage, according to project manager Lukáš Čepelka, adding that tenant interest remains steady despite strong competition. A rival project, Fontána Teplice, developed by JTH, opened on the same square in December.
Dandreet invested CZK 1.2bn into the mall. Teplice Mayor Jaroslav Kubera said that both malls will add more than 1,500 jobs to the local market. He hopes the project will help rejuvenate the city’s retail sector. The server iDnes claims that that for now, the new mall openings have forced other retailers along the city’s main shopping street to close.
