Market by Numbers: Land Romania

10 March 2014

2013 marked the sale of two important land plots in Bucharest: the 10,000 sq m Porsche land plot in the Barbu Vacarescu – Calea Floreasca office hub, and later in the year, the 96,000 sqm Aversa land plot, in the center-east of the city. Demand on the land market was characterized by focus, for buyers were mainly interested in locations which specifically suited their area of expertise. Main interest remained towards office developments, followed closely by land plots for retail projects and residential purposes. A trend which contoured in 2013 was the increased interest for agricultural land, as Romania features interesting supply on this segment, as compared to other European countries. Land prices remained stable in 2013, in Bucharest as well as throughout the country, whilst variations were only a consequence of sellers’ subjectivity.
