Penta opened a shopping arcade at its Florentinum office complex in Prague 1 this week. The arcade, connecting Na Florenci and Na Poříčí streets, offers 20 shops and restaurants over 3,500 sqm. Anchored by an Interspar supermarket, the mix includes a Rossmann drugstore, a Dr. Max pharmacy, the watch seller Koscom, a tobacconist and a flower shop. Czech Post will also open an office there.
“The office space in the building was 70 percent occupied prior to opening, and the retail space has attracted strong interest as well. The arcade was 85 percent leased at the opening,” said Penta’s development director, Petr Palička.
Florentinum, Penta’s first property development, cost CZK 4.4bn to build. Palička said Penta is open to selling the complex. “As soon as 90 to 95-percent occupancy has been achieved, we will consider an exit. But we will negotiate directly with potential investors. We do not use brokers,” he said.
