The developer Impact, controlled by the businessman George Iaciu, bought Moldova Mall in Iasi from East Balkan Properties (EBP). The shopping center was acquired by EBP in 2006 for about €35m. Impact plans to turned the mall into a mixed-use project. The top floors will be transformed into office space, while the first two floors will be maintained as retail space. When Moldova Mall was opened in 1970 it immediately became the city’s largest department store.
