Roesle against stabilizing euro exchange rate

6 February 2013

In response to an appeal made by French President Francois Holland, the German economic minister, Philipp Roesle, said today he’s against stabilizing the euro exchange rate. Holland asked for this support during a speech at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. “We can not allow the euro currency depending on the market sentiments,” he said. Roesle said the region’s financial problems can be solved after the competitiveness of the EU market improves, not by weakening the currency.
