Evelyn Higler has been named director of IKEA’s operations in Poland. She starts her new job Jan. 1, replacing Walter Kadnar, who held the position for two years. Higler has been working for Ikea since 2000, where she started as a deputy manager. In 2010, she was named deputy director of Ikea’s operations in Sweden. Before joining Ikea, she worked for various retailers, including OBI, Stinnes and Toom Baumarkt.
There are currently eight Ikea stores operating across Poland. Inter Ikea Centre Polska has delivered seven retail parks in the country, which it now manages. Inter Ikea was listed in CIJ Journal’s CEE Top 50 Retail Developers in 2011.
