Foreign companies dominate Romanian land deals

Foreign companies have closed a number of deals on the Romanian property market this year, mainly focused on former industrial sites around the country. Auchan bought the Tractorul Brasov site from Flavus Investments. The French company plans to invest between €55m and €60m to develop a retail project on the property which covers 100 ha.

Benevo Capital paid €23m for the former Vulcan factory site in Bucharest’s Sebastian neighborhood, where a retail park will be developed. The land covers 77,000 sqm. In a transaction worth €14m, Skanska bought a 15,000 sqm plot in the Floreasca-Barbu Vacarescu area, where it plans to develop an office project.

NEPI bought a 12.7 ha plot in the city of Galati with plans to develop a commercial center and a hypermarket.
