Czech McDonald’s offers electricity to go

27 August 2012

The Czech power company CEZ has teamed up with McDonald’s to provide charging stations for electric cars. The first of its kind will be located in the Prague 6 drive-thru restaurant on Evropska Street, which provides access from the city to the international airport. The environmentally-friendly nature of the initiative is underscored by the fact that the restaurant also sits on the edge of Prague’s popular Sarka nature reserve. Battery charging tends to be rather time-intensive, so CEZ may be using the innovation in part simply to draw attention to its growing network of charging stations around the country, which currently stands at 25.
