DnB Nord plans 650 layoffs in 2013

20 August 2012

DnB Nord is changing the focus of its Polish operations, as a result of which the bank says it will be putting some of its branches across Poland on sale. Nearly 650 jobs could be cut under bank’s restructuring plan, planned to be implemented in two phases. “By the end of the first quarter of 2013, the workforce is to be reduced by 300 employees, which is one third,” said Artur Tomaszewski, head of DnB Nord. “By the end of the next year, another 350 layoffs is planned,” he added. There are 950 employees currently working for the bank and organizational preparation is now underway to make the branch reduction possible.
