The limited-edition Wellingtons that the Czech Olympic Team marched in at the opening of the London Olympics turned out to be one of the surprise hits of the games. All 2,000 pairs that were on sale at the Czech House in London sold out within the first week of the games beginning, and they then sold out in the Alpine stores carrying them in the Czech Republic. The blue rain boots, decorated with playful lines from a local artist’s painting, have picked up international attention as well, with the lastest mention being in the Wall Street Journal’s blog. THey were designed by Daniela Flejsarova, a partner in E-Daniely, a Czech fashion house.
